    Hi there
I'm wondering if ye can advise
    I very stupidly have 2 convictions 2002&2004 I've regretted believe me ,
Bad time if my life , I stole €50 and 2004 I took more and got convicted for both .
I have sense changed , completely have my own home was very successful in my career until the bust and I change to being a career as family member was very ill , who passed away , I was asked by a nurse to help out in the community as I was so good at it and have never stopped sense , 7 years later in to it I have to be vetted with I can understand as I work with some really ill people, but I'm afraid my career will come to and end now , can I appeal for them to be spent ? Or how to go about it , only my family know my past , 13.& 15 years later it's haunting me and deserve it but I'm not that person anymore, and what drove me to it was not drugs etc or was to feed myself and put food over my head before any one asks !!

    hi,
If you listen to the matt cooper show from yesterday they were discussing people with crimminal convictions getting work. If you have one conviction, a public order or traffic offence, you can get it expunged. I forgot how old it has to be, think around 7 years. so unfortunately in your case, 2 convictions. I would double check to make sure what i say is correct. I wish you well.

Easiest way around it is to just declare them when your vetting. Stop worrying half the county has convictions. Iv a good few and last one was in 2009 for possession of a substance. I declared them all and I'm re-vetted every 3 years, and I'm a social care worker. Everyone has a past.
