    hi all
    getting a few jobs done soon in a place we've just bought. hoping that by the end of 2018 we should have 5k spent on jobs doing up the place. i have gone onto the hri section on the revenue website and it lists some examples of work eligible for the scheme but some of the work i'm getting done isnt mentioned so i'm wondering if anyone can comment on the below and if they have been able to claim for the same work??

    kitchen fittings 500
    drain works 500

    totals 5k but i'm thinking the blinds might be a stretch!

    My tuppence worth...

    Alarm..yes...similar to rewiring...and it improves the home.
    New front door...yes...similar to window replacement
    Blinds...not sure, but ask the company doing the work. If they've put work they've done before through the HRI scheme, then they'll know.
    Kitchen fittings? (If you're having new units or doors for units fitted then yes, but if it's the like of a new fridge or dishwasher then no).
    Drain work...yes..

    It's the contractor that registers the work, not the homeowner. You'll need to give them the property ID number.
