    Hi,

I successfully opened a case on csol.ie, case accepted, initiating document served.

The Respondent now wishes to settle for the claim amount, great. Saves us both time.

How do I close the case?

I cannot see the option online, perhaps I'm missing something...

    Mod
Suggest you contact the Small Claims Registrar

I have of course, but I though I'd reach out as a sanity check in case I was missing a trick.

Both parties communicate via the Registrar. If settlement has been offered, I assume the respondent made the offer vi the registrar?
Communication outside of the official channel is not something that Registrars appreciate.
The respondent will need to forward the settlement amount to the registrar who will then forward it to you and close proceedings.

Interesting. The (large corporate) Respondent came direct to me, offered the full claim amount and confirmed in writing. Happy to close proceedings on that basis given that I do trust the Respondent.

Fair enough, but it's the closing of it that I can't grok.

    Thanks.

The Small Claims Office got back to me fairly quick and advised write them a letter:

    - dated
    - signed
    - indicating that you wish to "Discontinue" or "Withdraw" the proceedings

You'll obviously need to include the case reference too.
Once it's actioned the case will be listed as "Withdrawn" online, and will bring an end to proceedings.

Thought this might be useful to some.

    Thanks folks.
