Massive Spoilers on DVD Boxes

    I just watched Allied and after watching glanced at the blurb on the back of the DVD box and there is an absolutely massive spoiler that ruins about half of the film.

    Why do the companies who release DVD's do this? I don't read the backs of the DVD cases anymore or the backs of books as they always give away far too much information and take away a large amount of suspense.

    They put that spoiler about Allied in the trailers too for some reason.

    Because it's not a spoiler, it's the central premise of the movie. That it takes Zemeckis an hour to get to it and that he does nothing with it is another matter, but it's a common problem with his films.
