Ford Focus 1.4 zetech - dashboard overheating

    Hello Friends,

I recently purchased a 2005 1.4 Zetech petrol Focus (MK2). I find that the plastic area underneath & around the Steering (to the right side of Stereo) gets extremely hot when I drive the car for 20 - 30 minutes with FAN/AC ON. This is not happening when the car is driver without the FAN or AC turned on. The FAN and AC works fine without any issues.

Does anybody know what might be the cause for this issue and how much it might cost to fix it in Dublin.

I am a learner driver and not so experienced with CAR mechanisms..any lead is appreciated.

    cheers,

Remove the panels around the area and inspect. There may be a broken conduct or something.

Have an auto electrician take a look at it in case it's an electrical issue behind the dash. Is/was there an aftermarket stereo fitted by any chance?
