WHAT HAPPENS WHEN TURUS NUA JOBS PATH PROGRAMME ENDS

Hi, just wondering if anyone knows what happens when a Turas Nua Jobs Path programme ends. I have completed the programme but remain unemployed. I ended up on the programme for the full year as I was also completing a part time college course. They should have let me complete the course and then put me on Jobs Path, but that would have been logical. They even knew it themselves, even said it to me, but in their wisdom I had to do both. But in practice, Turus Nua did nothing with me just a box ticking exercise. A complete joke. I may post another thread to highlight this total farce. Anyway, I am now summoned to an activation meeting with Employment Services to assess my needs & employment objectives. Everything Turus Nua were supposed to do. Just wondering if this means steering me towards CE schemes? Or does anyone have any idea what happens if you remain unemployed after Jobs Path? I am looking for work, and do not object to working for my social welfare payments, I would rather do something than nothing. Just wonder what others may have experienced in this situation? Thanks for any replies.

Hi Bronco Bullfrog. What date did you finish with Turas Nua. And how long afterwards did this Employment Services crowd contact you. Whan you finished with Turas Nua did you have to start signing on again at the Dole Office. Or were you constantly signing on at the Dole Office during your time with Turas Nua. Also when you go to this Employment Services meeting can you let us know what it is all about and what you have to do their. Many Thanks

As far as i am aware, the next step is that you will be summoned to your local Intreo advisor in relation to apply for CE Schemes in addition you will probably get a letter asking you do you want to participate in the TUS Programme (no choice really).

You will be transferred to a TUS programme or otherwise referred for a CE scheme.

Three weeks after my last day on Jobs Path I received a letter from Employment Services. They have given me one week's notice to attend a meeting with them. So one month after finishing Jobs Path I have to attend a meeting with Employment Services. When finishing up with Turus Nua my advisor told me I should wait until Social welfare write to me to let me know when I should start signing on again. This was incorrect information. A total bum steer. I checked with Social welfare immediately and was told I was required to sign on at the dole office the very next day after finishing with Jobs Path. So as soon as you finish Jobs Path check with your social welfare office for your next signing day, don't wait for them to write to you.
While you are on Jobs Path you are not required to keep signing on at the dole office. Not that anyone told me that when I started on Jobs Path, I had to find out the hard way, by queuing up only to be told 'you don't continue to sign on whilst on jobs path'. I will post again after I find out what phase 2 of long term unemployment entails.

Thanks Bronco Bullfrog. Please let us know how you get on with this Employment Services Crowd when you attend. It will be interesting to see do they make people sign up for either a Course or a CE Scheme on the day. Like do they force someone to choose there and then.
