Anyone with a Volvo VIDA cable in Galway?

I'm looking for someone with a Volvo VIDA (or DICE) cable in the Galway area to reset a fault code on my car.

I replaced my battery yesterday and it came up with an engine warning even though there's no faults in the ECU and it's running just fine. So I'm pretty sure it's just due to the loss of power during the change (I got lots of random errors constantly due to the low voltage on the old battery, which are all fine now with the new one).

I'm not able to clear the error with a standard OBD cable, I read online that it can only be cleared with a Volvo "VIDA" cable. And the only Volvo dealer here (Kenny's) won't give me a maximum price even for just looking at it. I don't want to risk bringing it there and then being hit with an expensive bill as it's an old car and I need to get rid of it soon.

I just want to clear this fault so I can get it NCTd next week.

So I was hoping someone in the Galway area has such a cable and could clear it for me for a reasonable fee. Tried my usual third party mechanic but they don't have the Volvo specific cable. They are available on ebay for about 70 euro so I was hoping someone in Galway might have one. If I order one myself it'll take too long as most are shipped from China which takes months.

It'll clear with a decent workshop diagnostics machine like snap on or similar too if you don't get someone with Vida.

You don't say which year/model, but as far as I know the only ECU on older Volvos that needs the Volvo software to reset it is the SRS one. The 'ordinary' ECU should clear itself if you let the car go completely 'dead' on power. (Disconnect battery for 15-30min)

If it still shows an error after that, chances are there's an error.

Also, an engine warning light on isn't an automatic NCT fail.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Correct, it alone is not a fail for petrol cars, but it is a fail for diesel cars.
