Fence in an estate

    Who is responsible for a fence in an estate, would it be the management company or home owner, we have a corner house and the said fence runs along our back garden with a footpath on the opposite side?

    We want to put in a gate and have heard conflicting opinions re doing this ? That we are or aren't allowed!

    Planning required. I've seen them and had them granted here in Dublin on many occasions.
