Illness Benefit and Returning to Work

    Hi guys,

I've looked this up and can't seem to find an answer to my question.

Basically I was out sick due to work stress (since Feb). Doctor advised me to sign off until I found a new job as the one I had was causing the issue.

I got moved to a monthly cert after a short time. I handed in my cert as normal on 1st Aug (Tues) and was offered a job the day after to start the following week. The doctor signed me off the day before I was due to start.

My question is, I'm getting conflicting answers. Will I be paid the couple of days extra I was signed off for, or, will I be paid for the final 3 weeks of the sick cert even though I've been signed back on?

    Does anyone know?

You will be payed up to the date your gp used to state that you were fit for work, you also needed to send in the final cert you received.

That was all done. I'm just curious as there's no info on welfare.is and conflicting info here.

Thank you! There's a week in the difference and the extra week would be awesome and tide me over while waiting on my first paycheck but I figured that would be too good to be true anyway! Haha.

    Thanks again!
