JSA suspended due to missed Public Services Card appointment

I missed my public services card appointment & my JSA was suspended this morning because of this.
I have been using my white PPS card & the letter I received absolutely did not state that there was an urgency to get the new card or consequences if I did not. Does anyone know if there is any point in complaining or how long it will take to get my payment reinstated after I apply for the new card? Also have I lost this weeks money as a result?

When anyone on benefits fails to respond to a request to attend an office for any reason, it creates suspicion. You need to contact your intreo office and your payment will be re-instated.

It states on the letter that it's part of a roll out.Everyone is getting a card regardless of their employment situation. I fully comply with everything & find that in itself humiliating but I was actually left in tears after dealing with two separate offices this morning.

With the exception of this ,

This is unfortunately all your own making ,you should organise to get the new card sorted so you can get paid

You must have completely ignored it and not contacted them at all to explain or ask what it was for?
As others have said you can't just ignore communication from dsp, they can and will just stop payment as you've found out.
Just call them and make a new appointment to get the card ASAP.

I didn't ignore it. I rebooked online as the letter said I could do but their systems to appear to sync up & so I appeared as no show for the initial appointment.
I just didn't realise this card was vital & the way it was handled extremely unfair.

Hmm well if you changed the appointment time and your money was stopped that is unfair, do you have proof of that change that you could bring in to them?
If so I'd suggest you take it in and show them that you followed instructions.

It's not possible for them to contact every person who seems to not show up for appointments but in this case it seems you've been unlucky. For future reference always call to change anything and get a name!
