    Hi,

    I have a 2006 Bmw 523i

    If the coolant level drops below a certain level, will I get notified via the iDrive system or a warning on the dash?

    Yep, assuming the sensor and connections are good of course.

    Just check it if you are in doubt though. Cold engine, open tank cap, there is a floaty thing that bobs in the coolant to show the level.
