UK Golf GTD - Should I chance it

I'm very very interested in an exported UK 2015 GOLF GTD, that's for sale in Dublin.

My mechanic checked it out - says it's perfect, advised me to check with VW UK to confirm the last service date, mileage and what was done.

VW Uk say that there's no record of a VW service carried out on the car, that it must have been done by an independent specialist.

I suppose the next step is to get the Irish & UK owner's details and make further enquiries, or would you walk away ??

I got a full Irish & UK History from Mywheels.ie - said " there's no cause for concern".

the car was sold in the UK in Dec 2016, then 1st registered, in Ireland by a " company", in April 2017 , and June 2017 was noted as sold to a Garage.

I'm dropping in to the dealer shortly to see what other information I can get from them.

Or should I keep clear of it??

How many miles are on it? If the miles are very low it may not have been due a service based on miles.

It's a 2015 that was registered in late 2016 and imported to Ireland in mid 2017? Doesn't sound right to me. I'd be looking for an Irish one anyway, we got much better specs on 2016 and newer models than the UK did. But I'd also suggest a GTI instead ;)

    Just to clarify.

The car was 1st registered in the UK in 2015, then sold in Dec 2016.

Awlays trust your gut, if it feels right do it - if not walk away. Plenty more fish in the sea.

What month in 2015 was if first registered?

A UK GTD is 99% going to be on long life servicing where it is only due it's first oil service after 20k miles or 24 months so it may not have had a service yet.

Can you post a screenshot of the mywheels report? I don't doubt what your saying but it just sounds like it's passed through the trade a bit which may or may not be any cause for concern.

I decided to walk away After a brief cagey chat with the dealer, no real explanation was given 're the history of the car, so I've moved on.

Thanks to all for the advice
