Apache Kid available at 66 -1 - this is 2 big has a tricky draw near pension plan , but is better than 66-1

good news at 50 , 2 big aswell as with apache Kid - not being with a big name kennel might be a bit of it

native Chimes at 33-1 is another in that Bracket

Droopys De Rossi is worth a few € at 100/1

He's 66/1 now after last nights great run. I see the clock was rattled a couple of times.

I had a small bit on Calico Ranger. He was unlucky to come 5th in the only 4 qualifier round! Thought he'd go far with a bit more experience around Shelbourne

Sonic and buckos dream clash tomorrow night,have never seen a dog with the early of buckos dream,i think he will lead sonic and it will be interesting to see how sonic will do if he is behind,great few heats in store.

CLARES ROCKET INJURED AND OUT OF DERBY
The BoyleSports Irish Derby was thrown wide open this morning when it was announced that Clares Rocket had sustained a wrist injury in Saturday’s quarter–final of the classic and will not be taking his place in next Saturday’s second semi-final.

Indeed, it appears likely that the great tracker has run his last race as a result of the badly sprained wrist which is the same injury which caused his withdrawal from last year’s Derby.

It is a terrible blow for the dog’s connections, owners Full House Syndicate and trainer Graham Holland to lose out on two Derbys due to the same reason.

Confirming the news yesterday, Holland said, “I had my fears on Saturday when he checked going into the first bend and then again at the third bend. I wasn’t sure whether it was a problem which caused the third bend check or the leader shutting him off. But there is no way he will be able to run and I doubt if he will, ever run again”.

Clares Rocket was still the 2-1 favourite with sponsors BoyleSports before the news broke but the amended betting now has Sonic as the 9-4 favourite ahead of Good News at 9-2 with Native Chimes on 11-2 and Tyrur Harold at 6-1.

Time for 'Good News' in derby semi-finals


The defection of the injured Clares Rocket has robbed the BoyleSports Irish Derby of the biggest drawing card but the 11 remaining contenders should provide thrills aplenty in the semi-finals at Shelbourne Park.
Native Chimes and Tyrur Harold are likely to joust for favouritism in the first heat, but the chances of Buckos Dream, Jaytee Barracuda, Black Farren and Hey Bound cannot be easily discounted.
Indeed, the early pace of Buckos Dream suggests he can lead Tyrur Harold to the vital first bend and that would set up a terrific finish.

My choice for this contest is the Johnny O'Sullivan-trained Native Chimes (8.57) which is sure to be close to the pace entering the back and has the strength to assert in the closing stages.
Don't be surprised if Jaytee Barracuda makes a bold bid for a final place.

Trap four will be vacant in the second heat and this can make for a cleaner run than expected to the bend.
The draw is particularly vital in a race of this quality and the best-drawn dog appears to be the Pat Guilfoyle-trained Good News which will wear the red jacket.

It almost guarantees him a clear run and he can get first run on the outright favourite Sonic.
The neighbours on either side of the Carlow/ Kilkenny border Kilgraney Ace and Jaytee Jet can play vital roles and both will be prominent. The three for the final can be Good News, Sonic and Kilgraney Ace.

The semi-finals will be shown live on RTé 2 between 8.0 and 9.30pm.
