Not receiving high transponders

Tried to tune in the recently fta channels like Dave, but having no joy at the higher frequencies such as 12129 - the challenge transponder is the first one that fails.

The receivers are two ariva 150 combo's and an older Edison combo.

Google is telling me possible DECT phone interference (which I've ruled out), or water ingress, but would it really affect 3 separate runs exactly the same?

All other channels are 90% strength, mid 70's quality. Is it likely the maybe 10 year old lnb isn't up to spec (so don't have an issue replacing at this stage)? Or is there something else I'm missing?

Had a similar problem a few years ago with my quad lnb (4 outputs HL, HH, VL, VH), and I lost the Horizontal Highs first, followed by Horz lows.

I just had to replace the lnb, which was a relief, cos I thought it might have been an issue with the multi switch.

Swap out your lnb, they are relatively cheap.

New lnb on the way. Hopefully sorts it (for channels we'll probably never watch!) :)

Well the lnb didn't solve the issue (now have a higher quality signal on the frequencies I can get though!). I assume cable is the next thing to look at? Would it be rare for three runs to be affected by the same issue?

Could you see if the dish needs re-alignment?

In your original post, you mentioned you were getting a 90% signal, but 70% quality, which might be an indicator of slight dish mis-alignment, as the quality of the signal is the one which really matters.

It's possible to have only 60% signal, but with 95% quality.

Maybe as a test, record your quality measurements on a sunny day, a cloudy day, a rainy day and a windy day. See if there's any wild discrepancy in the figures.

Also, don't forget, the LNB may need to be slightly skewed.

I'll try, but those frequencies, the strength and quality are dropping off to 45% strength/ 10% quality, from the last one that does work. Would skew/ misalignment affect it that much just at certain frequencies?
