OK, So i work for a very large company in Dublin, we'll call it spoogle, We are constantly expanding.

I am in a sales role and in this position for 4 years.

New managements roles pop up every 5-6 months.

Now I am sub 30, but I am doing various internal management courses, All online and most 1 hour long, but that's because that's all they are. Some courses are 1 day long.
I have been part of interviews for new recruits and various training for them.

My current manager knows my goal is to leave the team and become manager within the company. He supports this.

Should I wait as I am and continue my courses and wait untill I am older to apply for these positions or should I apply every time they pop up and hope to get to interview stage?

I have applied for one last year, didn't get to interview stage.

Dont want HR to see my name and think not this guy again, but also want to show interest to evolve.

There's absolutely no harm in putting your name forward. It shows initiative and drive. Your age shouldn't count against you in the application stage: if you're good enough, you're old enough.

What I would advise is to look for feedback. If you don't get to interview (or if you aren't successful at interview stage), asking for feedback means you can learn what you need to do to be successful next time.

It's great to have a manager who wants you to move upwards. Perhaps ask them for advice too? After all, they had to pass interviews to get into management. I'm sure they would be happy to pass on some tips to you.

If you're not in you can't win.

As the previous poster mentioned, feedback and learning from the feedback is key.

Also, you mention that you're taking on training, I would look to have someone in the role of manager mentor you so that you can be better prepared for it in the future.

Also, it would be good to get some sense of the job, look to take on duties that will mirror the management role so that you can have some solid experience to sell if and when you get an interview.

    Best of luck.
