Sold an item on eBay, buyer not happy, what next

Looking for some advice. Sold an item on eBay last week (large Lego kit). Stated in the listing that it was complete for the most part but was missing several pieces that had been lost over the years. Started the auction with a very low price based on the fact that the original packaging was lost and some pieces were not included.

Auction ended and the winning bidder paid for the item straight away. Item was posted and I thought that was the end of it. Several days later I started to receive messages via eBay from the seller saying that they weren't happy with the item as several pieces were missing and the kit was incomplete (??)

I offered to refund their payment less the P&P I had paid due to the fact that the listing clearly stated that pieces were missing (there are over 1400 pieces in this kit, buyer maintains that 14 are missing - 1% of the total kit).

Buyer wasn't happy with this and wanted their entire payment returned (incl P&P) and they want me to pay the return postage also. The reason they claim is that the item "was not as described". They have opened a return dispute with eBay and I am just wondering what are my chances of having the item returned by the buyer at their expense.

My opinion is that the buyer feels like they overpaid for the item and now simply don't want it and they are doing their best to push the problem back on me. The listing called out the fact that the kit was incomplete (missing pieces) and that returns were not accepted by the seller. Don't know what else I could have done in this case.

Looks like buyer didn't fully read the description in the listing and is in a bad mood now and wants a refund. You made a reasonable offer and they refused it.

I doubt the buyer will win the dispute as you clearly described it was missing pieces.

Ebay/PP used to be very buyer biased. Reportedly thats less the case of late.

Can you put the exact wording of the description up? It just you say complete in the most part with a few bits missing in your post. I think the seller did not read your description however a lots depends on the wording of your post.

Tell them if they send it back to you (at their expense) you will refund the money...you really cannot say fairer than that.

I'd wait for instructions from eBay, any offer may look like an admission of guilt
