There was a family photo taken as one of my wedding pics that does not have my husband present in the pucture. My mum wants to hang this one up beside my brothers wedding photo. My brothers wedding photo has our family in it and his wife. I know it's her house but it is really frustrating me that my husband isn't in the picture, I really feel insulted but am I being out of line requesting that she put up one with my hubby in the family pic too?

She says she just wants a family picture up and doesn't have one of my brothers wedding without his wife. Don't think hubby is too bothered anyway and maybe he is right.

Ya, you are right, she should put up the other pic of your brother at his wedding without his wife.

it depends really, does your mother have an issue with your husband? if not then I'd drop it as you are creating an issue out of nothing.

If this actually is true, then I'd be of the same mind as your husband. Maybe she does just want a family photo and this happened to be it. I can see why you'd be a bit miffed and skeptical, especially if she did turn out to have an issue with your hubby, but I'm speculating now.

She just wants a family photo.. that's the one. If you arrange to have another family photo taken at another time she can put that one up and then change the wedding one to have your husband in it.

If you're put out by your husband not being in the picture, why did you allow one to be taken without him?!

It's a non-issue. Even if your mother doesn't like your husband she doesn't have to!

Oh come on. Unless there are loads of other reasons why you think your mother is trying to cut your husband out of the family then this is such a trivial thing to get upset over.

This would annoy me. Because of the context (that we know of) and the type of photo that is being used.

    1. It's hanging beside a photo of your brothers wedding, which has his wife in it. So, I think it does look a bit strange that your husband isn't in your photo, to be honest. If it were just hanging there on its own it wouldn't stand out to me at all, but it sounds like it might be a section of the wall where the wedding photos are hung? If that is the case his absence is not on. Unless it's just a random selection of photos on the wall and there is a second photo of your wedding hanging (or standing) somewhere in your house that your husband is in. That would be okay I think.

    2. The day of your wedding was the day that your husband became part of your family - so, a family photo without some of the family??? Unless she meant that she wanted just the immediate family? I suspect she did. In that case, if it were me I would ask her to please choose a photo from a different occasion.

No yeah you're all right, I'm just being stupid over it. Didn't arrange it was just a pic photographer took while hubby went to get his dad. And she doesn't have one of just the family, just I suppose I was thinking further down the line after all of us are married and he'll be left out, but it's is really such a small trivial matter, and the main thing I guess once he doesn t mind and feel left out.

Thabks all and appreciate everyone's honesty that yeah it's funny at times some things that can really bother you but are probably little jealousy issues etc . and being petty.

Yeah it was thr fact that they will he side by side together as well as point 2 that was just bugging me. And brother has a lot of walls dedicated to his wedding alone! My sister in law said it to my mum that there were too many! I understand that as he lives away, and God I would really hate a load of pics up. That prob be worse.

Maybe if I do one up of us to put somewhere in the house as she is mad about my husband. Or even suggest it to her.
    My mum needs more walls!
