Note3 2 phone with better uptime

    As per thread title - I have a Note3 for a few years now. However, whilst it works great and does all I need it to do, I've got two major gripes;

    1. The battery life is rubbish. I'f I'm away from home, this can be a major bugbear.

    2. Those damn connectors always seem to go (the micro usb connectors in the phone) or they don't function properly if a fibre gets stuck in there.

I believe apple had a product out that kind of did away with this type of connection - and it was just a magnetic 'snap' on to the end of the phone. Is there an equivalent product in the android based world? I don't have the time or inclination to go replacing micro-charging ports in phones any more!

One final item. The reception doesn't seem to be as good (by comparison with a cheap Huawei phone that I've got). At times, I don't seem to have any reception at all when it's connected to the car via bluetooth - that wouldnt be the case with the Huawei.

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Sure - but I don't want to spend anything close to that sort of $$. Surely I can solve those problems (battery life) and improved connector with something more affordable?

On the last issue (connector), it seems that has been solved aftermarket (znaps) for a few dollars.

If I was to shell out that sort of cash, what else would I get for my money? I have not been keeping tabs but what killer (hardware) apps have been incorporated in generations 4-8?

I'd be happy enough with a phone with the same capability but with much improved battery life that lasts for a complete day - regardless of how intensively I use the phone.

Znaps are complete scam artists. They ripped off many people with their Kickstarter, including a few people i know.

Regarding battery, why not just buy a new battery, and a spare? You'd be sorted then.

There are many improvements to android since the note 3, and Samsung have also made huge improvements to TouchWiz (it's not actually called that any more). If you're happy enough with your current device, there's no need to upgrade, though.

good to know. So they didn't supply the item via their kickstarter campaign? Is the 'product' vapourware or is it that they themselves are disorganised/incompetent etc?
Is there an alternative on the market?

My bad - I've explained it poorly. It's not that the battery has degraded. It's that this model of phone is power hungry. I can't get through the day with intensive usage without having to recharge in between times.

I'm not seeing anything that stands out as a 'must have' for me (although I appreciate there may be stuff that appeals to others).
I am very happy with what I've got - but the power consumption kills the experience.

Why not look at one of the xiaomi

The basic range with snapdragon 425 has a 4000mAh battery

The magnetic connector you want is a wsken mini 2

Thanks - will check it out. Which one of these has the biggest battery and still offers a similar level of functionality as the Note 3?

Perfect - will order one of these up if it's not too expensive. On all three notes I've had, I've had to replace the micro usb connector module on each of them. Not doing it again!

I think the xiaomi only go to 4000

Oukitel do a few 6000mah phones

Buy a USB-C phone, its a farrrr more durable connector.
