Recommendations for car dealers in the North?

Any good recommendations for car dealers in the North? I'm heading up that way on Saturday and was looking at doing a bit of window shopping while there.

Looking at maybe getting a 2nd hand Hyundai i30 petrol. Dalys on the Falls Road seem ok price wise. Their website doesn't have much of a collection compared to other car sites for them, which lists a lot of cars.

    Charles Hurst http://www.charleshurstgroup.co.uk/used-cars/

You could try www.usedcarsni.com for a mix of private and dealer sales.

Not from a buying experience but from getting warranty work done on a UK imported VW I would recommend Agnews in Belfast.

No need to travel for Charles Hurst if close to Dublin

    http://www.usedirectireland.ie

They advertise that their whole NI stock is available here

I presume you still need to pay VRT?

And still go up and collect/test drive the car?

I'd imagine if they are selling it from their Dublin branch then the price would include VRT. If the car is located in Belfast then they might bring a car down to their Dublin branch for you to test drive it. Worth asking anyway.

Isn't there a large collection of garages on the boucher road in Belfast?

Ive rang them previously with regards to a car advertised on their site. It was apparently in the north, so you would have to pay them a fee to drive it down and admin. Think it was about E600. Same car wasnt advertised on their uk site though?!

Yeah, everything bar Audi who are next to Harland and Wolfe. All Agnew franchises

    Gerry McVeigh in dungannon.
Would have very good reputation in these parts, and regularly supplies vehicles to customers and other dealers across the border.

I have no connection with them ... other than buying a couple of cars over the years.

Pay premium at Hurst's,but generally good clean motors.

Has anyone here used Jack Reid cars in Carrickfergus or have any info on them?

Never used them but they have 189 cars for sale on carsni. My rule of thumb would be to bring a mechanic .

Haven't found that myself. I've bought last two from their UseDirect franchise in Newtownabbey. Most recent was a better featured version than one I test drove elsewhere for ~1k cheaper. Few wee things needed sorted after purchase, all sorted handy enough.

Do bring someone who knows about cars as ones that they have took as trade ins and are selling on can be hit or miss. They didn't even look inside/turn on the car I traded in last time.

They are absolute misers on test drives though, make it clear you want a proper long drive(if that is what you want), they tried to stick me with a 1 minute drive in an S3.

No movement on price with them either.

Mate test drove a Golf R there few months back. Seemed a decent crowd, just gave us the keys and left us off. Also honestly told the mate he'd be better off selling his own car private. Don't know anyone who has bought off them but got a good impression.
