Black rock, salthill (most popular but across town)
    Doorus/lynches Pier, Kinvara
    Traught Beach, Kinvara
    Renville Pier, Oranmore,
    Loughrea lake (next most popular)

Off the top of my head

Loughrea lake is nice and has the 750m marked out that is used for the triathlon there.

Blackrock in Salthill also has buoys out with the distances on the wall at the changing area.

You could also swim in Dangan but a bit of a trek.

The closest for you though would be down at the sailing club in Renville. I know some people that go out there on their lunch breaks.
