Does anybody know if the inmr mileage pull in mileage readings from carzone ad's?

I am looking at a car and their is a mileage discrepancy coming up in a MotorCheck report. The seller is explaining it as the previous owner he bought th car from put the miles and kilometers in incorrectly in their ad and it has been picked up from here.

There is also a new mileage log now in my online report that is the same miles as the ad. Seller has told me he has not added this and it's come from carzone.

All the service history the owner has checks out fine. It's just this reading that is way off.

    Anyone ever heard of this?

Not the ads per se, but from the queries for the report.

When you request the report, it asks you to put the current mileage. If a few reports with similar figures are run, it might store it as current reading.

Ok makes sense. Someone could have run the report when the ad was incorrect.

Can this be changed easily enough, When I sell the car myself I would rather not deal with describing this. As mentioned the service history for the car all checks out.

Contact motorcheck and ask them to check out the reading a make sure they're correct. errors can probably happen from time to time with mileage readings and if it's not an error and there is a mileage discrepancy then you can easily walk away.
