    Hi,

I have a Homesafe alarm system for 9 years with no issue but have been having some problems lately. Firstly I keep getting "wireless siren tamper alarm" warning even though the alarm is clearly untouched and secondly I get a low battery warning for a sensor even though I've changed the battery. Any idea what might be causing either of these issues?

Have you changed the battery in the external bell?
When you say you have changed the battery in the device does the same device show tamper open when you remove the cover.
Ive come across loads with the same name zone but battery in wrong sensor changed.

Also many systems require an activation of a device after a new battery is inserted to get the clear signal.
I would recommend changing all batteries together to prevent them becoming staggered.

Sensors will send a signal to panel once fault has been cleared on this system.

I haven't changed the siren alarm but it has been showing tamper on and off for a couple of months. The sensors I changed the battery in are showing tamper and these won't clear from the system. I'm still getting "alarm in memory" and can't set the sysyem.

In the past I usually just changed the battery and all worked fine after, no need to activate the device.

I agree, that's how it should be. But I have had cases where the next activation sent clears a fault.
More than likely its the device. Just a couple of things worth trying before replacing the unit.

Id try changing the battery first, maybe that the bell has moved and just needs to be tightened back in place. Id try that before replacing the bell.

If you go through the list of faults then arm and disarm that will clear the list for you. If you still have a fault it will also tell you what that is.

That is the way it works on that system.

I'll check it out. The bell takes two batteries as far as I remember and it's been a while since I changed them. House was painted recently so maybe the box got knocked loose while that was going on.

Could of been the issue if it did get a bang.
It wont be the only one a painter has hit in this country :D

Just to update this I replaced the batteries in the siren, chased out a huge spider that was living in it, and all seems to be ok now.

One follow up question. I have a GSM unit and can set / unset my alarm by text but is it possible to have it connected to a landline too or is it a case of either / or?
