    Hello,

this might be in the wrong place, so please feel free to move. would anyone know where I would find some information on Irish Colleges for children who are currently finished 6th class that may run in August. Due to illness in July we were unable to attend this but I have an eager beaver looking to go to Irish college.

Any help of guidance would be appreciated.

I've moved this to the Primary school forum which is more suitable.

Please take a look at the local charter before posting.

I think nearly all of them will take a kid that age but it is usually for 3 weeks .
    This looks fun -

    http://www.colaistenaomheoin.com/ is another option

I went to Ballyvourney in Cork after finishing 6th class. I'm sure any Irish college will take them. A quick Google of "Irish courses 2017" should give you a list.

    In Waterford there's Ring.
In Cork, Ballyvourney, and I think there's a few others.
In Kerry there's a good few all out past Dingle in Corcha Dhuibhne.
Galway has a few, including the Aran Islands.
I believe there's also one in Meath.

You'd want to be getting on to them quick, as some of the August courses could be starting this week.

I went to Colaiste na bhFiann from age 12 onwards. They are strict but the routine makes it easier to settle. Very high level of Irish too. They're the reason I loved Irish and did well in secondary school. They used to have colleges nationwide but I don't think they have as many anymore. They also run(or at least used to) a club during the year to help maintain fluency.

For that age group, a live-in college might be best,Coláiste Íde west of Dingle would be a place to consider.
