I may have start this commute next year? What would people think is the best option for a 9-5 commute? Open to driving but would prefer public transport

Looking at possibility of dart to Malahide and bus across but buses seem scarce

    Thanks

i'm doing a similar distance commute, but by bike. may not be an option you'd consider?

It's an option I wouldn't rule but to be honest it'd be way down the pecking order not a big fan of cycling

Monkstown to airside is probably a good 90min cycle each way so you will need to be an experienced cyclist to start that. I lived in stillorgan for years and work in airside and the public transport options are hopeless. Linking to the swords express is probably your best bet but it is expensive.

Motorcycle is about 35-40 min each way through town...

well, it obviously depends on how fast you cycle; if you *did* regularly do it, you'd end up fit enough that it'd be about an hour.

No. 7 bus to Mountjoy Sq. then switch to a 33 or 41.

To city centre, 7, 7A or DART.

Any of the 33, 41b or 41c - they avoid the airport, or Swords Express, but the latter is outside of LEAP capping.

The 41 will take longer as it goes via the airport.

Put your exact locations and relevant dates and times into www.a-b.ie and tweak the settings. Make sure you have selected "take neighbouring stops into account for origin and destination maximum 20 min walk". Examine the multi-ticket options available with Swords Express and enquire if they expect to do a hook-up with other operators.

Aircoach to airport and bus to Airside is the wildcard of the pack. They do staff fares for airport staff, but likely not others.

The 102 from Malahide is reliable time wise, but not the most frequent.

I used to cycle Booterstown-Malahide 4 days a week. Took about an hour, less if I hurried. Quiet routes through Sandymount.

Enquire about Taxsaver - not all employers participate.

The one advantage relief for you if driving from the southside is that the tolls would only be about €9-10 per day instead of €23-24. :)
