Tough climb today, heavy showers and very cold at the top.

Thought the crowds were small this year, the different GAA games being played on the same day might have been a factor in the crowd size though.

Well done to you on scaling the climb. Bone dry conditions the climb is difficult enough, and the descent is as difficult.

If the weather is raining and wet, it makes a difficult course even tougher.

    Well done!

Sounded rough for sure. I see 13 were taken away injured, and wish them a speedy recovery.

Never did it ... no interest in doing it ... but I admire the tenacity of those who do.

    Ascending the climb isn't easy.
In my experience descending the climb is far harder than ascending.

What age are you like 70. Hard climb? What are you talking about, it is not everest like.

One of those who got into difficulty was in his 70s, and it is certainly a fair challenge at that age. While not particularly difficult for those used to it, descending over rock in wind and rain is likely to be awkward for anyone who's not a regular hiker.
