M50 toll penalty

I was home from the UK a few months ago and borrowed the home car which is registered to my mother who hasn't driven in years due to weak eyesight. I paid the toll 3 days after using it and emailed etoll to confirm that it was all paid up. They responded 'refusing to discuss anything as i was not the registered owner'. I've just arrived home again to discover that the penalty is 47.10 euro to my mother. Is there any recourse?

I'd say get your mother to call them and have her mention the date you paid the toll.

I found the best bet is to set up an account that automatically debits your account every month when the M50 toll has been used.

They usually forego the penalty if you agree to set up an account.
