Garage for a DPF regen on a Mazda 6 in Westport today ideally but if not tomorrow?

    Hi lads,

So all my recent town driving has clogged the DPF on my 2010 2.2 diesel Mazda 6 surprise surprise.

Got a guy in Nolans in Longford to hook it up to a diagnostic kit and the flashing DPF light he said meant I need it regen'd but to try giving it a decent drive on the way to Westport keeping the revs over 2,000rpm which I did and it might help it but I'll still need it regen'd.

So ideally I'd get this done today as its our first day of hols and want to drive places.

I know it Sunday but is there a garage around Westport that could do this on a Sunday?

I don't know the area at all. Ideally close to the town centre so I can drop the car and take the family for a coffee or whatever for the hour or so it should take.

    Thanks a mil.

If I am right, there is an issue of sorts with those Mazdas not regenerating due to the oil level being too high. Might be worth checking and confirming this isn't the case before you do anything else.

There is an issue that half completed regens would dump diesel back into the oil anyway

If the oil level has shot up I wouldn't really be driving it too in case of further damage.

Thanks lads. Oil level seems ok to be honest.

Going to a mechanic tomorrow though so will ask them to check the oil to make sure I'm not losing the plot.

It's not surprising though. I've been based in Dublin city centre for the past 7 months.
Travelling in from Dublin 15 every day and not getting many/any long runs in at weekends was never gonna work.

With my work though I could be back doing long trips every day in about another 5 months time so moving to petrol at this point would be stupid.
