The US President who came between Kennedy and Nixon has been oddly neglected by Hollywood, but that's about to change with the making of LBJ. Directed by Rob Reiner, Woody Harrelson stars, with Jennifer Jason Leigh as Lady Bird Johnson:

What I know about Johnson is that he was a walking contradiction: a Texas Democrat back in the days when such a thing was possible, pushing civil rights legislation through Congress while privately calling it highly racist names. There are stories of Johnson driving a big Cadillac around his Texas ranch at high speeds while drunk, then holding out his cup for a refil of cheap whiskey from the Secret Service agents in the car following him ... :pac:

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.
