300kg carcass

    What kind of live weight in an Angus/Hereford heifer or bullock would leave you with around a 300kg carcass..I wouldn't be a great judge..

    Roughly 580-600 kilo liveweight. Maybe even lighter. It is hard to say though

    Assuming KO 55% about 550kg LW will leave a 300kg DW.

    Quality and sex of animal will improve or disimprove KO% etc

    Lads above are about right. Though some of our meat factories miraclously got it to 72% during the 80s!!!

    around 600kgs ,if off dairy stock about 50% kill out,2to3% more off beef cows.

    around 50% will hang most of them. 500lw 250dw.

    How can lads figure what % fr cull cows kill out at?
    I only fating a small number but some cows amaze me ,i think br.fr cows can be easy to put flesh on but wont knock the scales .Other cows might be more holstein but with any bit of flesh they seem to come into big weights
