Car care

So this may sound a bit stupid to some but today me and a mate of mine spent a good few hours working on a car a good by giving it a clean, clay , polish etc.

I was curious after a heavy downpour of rain where the water tends to pool, is it bad to wipe down the car down again with a cloth before the rain sets in those dirty blotches, or is that essentially pushing dirt into the clean surface ?

    Thanks in advance

The blotches or spots that you notice is contamination from the rain water. That is fine to wipe down with a good microfiber drying towel, assuming the car is clean. If the car has been out of a spin, it will have light dust on the car, and this could potentially damage the paintwork (light swirls), so a quick wash would be necessary.
