Agricultural Planning Fees/Levies

    Hi folks-

So there is an agri levy of €4.10 per m2 for agri development with the first 250m2 being exempt.

I want to submit plans for a client - floor area 900m2.
The building is essentially 3 buildings joined on to each other, 2 of these buildings are less than 250m2 and the largest is 400m2.

Would it make sense to make 3 applications, the first fee would be 400m2 - 250 which is 150m2 x 4.10 = €615.

The other 2 applications would be free?

    Otherwise the fee would be 900 x 4.10 = €3690.

Or am I looking at this all incorrectly?

    Thanks.

Where are you getting the 4.10 from?

Agri is class 3, which is €1 for every square metres in excess of 200...
    So in your case 900-200=700 x 1 = €700 fee

New fees in Kerry brought in this week. pg 12

    http://www.kerrycoco.ie/en/media/media,13657,en.pdf

with the class 3 there was a max fee of 300 irrespective of floor area.

Those are development contributions, not planning fees.
They have nothing to do with making a planning application.

Okay thanks - so if I made 3 planning applications would the same principle apply to the contributions ie first 250m2 exempt?

You could try your luck at applying for 250sq a time, but obviously your have to build each 250sq m before applying for permission for the next one.

Ie you cannot extend onto what doesn't exist.

Thanks for the reply- they are actually separate structures- separate roofs, supporting stanchions etc.
I wonder could apply for one building, then 2 weeks later apply for another?

Perhaps do a quick sketch and post here to show the layout please
