    Hi guys,

Like the majority of people building we cant draw down on our mortgage until at subfloor level.

what steps are involved to get us to this point, my partner usually deals with our architect and cant seem to give me a straight answer.

So far we have; excavated the site, dug the foundations, put down the mesh and the concrete has been pored. Blockwork below ground starts this weekend. How much further do we need to go? We are not putting in UFH.

    Thanks.

We got our initial payment once the floor slab was completed. Basically once you are ready to start the ground floor blocks. The first payment is the slowest as they require a lot of boxes to be ticked. Much quicker after that.

You need to build up the blockwork to subfloor level, backfill and prepare ground in preparation for floor. There are relatively new rules re types of stone to go under concrete floors.
In preparing for the floor pour, you will be installing radon sump and pipework, toilet pipework and any other required services, radon barrier on suitably compacted stone and blinding. Then concrete subfloor pour with mesh and possibly insulation depending what detail you are using.
    Thst is then subfloor complete.
