HDMI to Android adapter

Hi all, I don't know whether this is the right forum for my question.
Mods, please, move where it's appropriate if it's the case.
I have a portable device, a dash cam, with a mini HDMI output connector. I would like to view live or play the recorded clips on an Android device (tablet and/or smartphone).
Is there any kind of adapter that allows me to do that?
A cable miniHDMI-to-OTG USB, or a dongle from HDMI to WiFi suitable for Android devices?
I have seen some HDMI-to-WiFi adapters, like the ChromeCast devices, but I don't know whether they are compatible with a smartphone or tablet.
    Thanks in advance!

THis probably won't work for you the way you want - the Android phone/tablet can't "receive" a HDMI signal via the USB port. What you'll need to do is transfer the videos from the dashcam to the Android device first (microSD card maybe) and then view them on a video player

Is it possible to convert the HDMI signal into a WiFi signal via one of those dongles like the one I mentione?

Very hard to say, without knowing what you were looking at - do you have any links?

Any dongle of those in these pages

    HDMI-to-WiFi dongles

No unfortunately - all of those devices are used for "receiving" the HDMI signal, on a screen that has a HDMI input - an android phone/tablet only has a HDMI output. Any of the wireless ones there require the sender to support casting (the dashcam likely won't)

What you'll probably end up doing is connecting your dashcam to the TV directly, or copying the files to your Android, and then viewing them on that screen, or casting them to some other screen

Oops, I thought those dongles would work the other way round!
Well, because it was a thing to do on the car I would stick to the idea to move the SD card to the android device.
Thanks so much for your tips!
