Job Path

    Hi Guys

I am collecting a "Casual Workers JSA" payment and I have been summoned to a Job Path appointment for the first time next week. I am working three days a week in a job I really like and have been for 4 years but my boss does not have any more days for me. I have a degree, masters, diplomas, etc. but due to the area I live in there is little work and I am not in the financial situation where I can afford to relocate to an area with better opportunities. I have regularly applied for full/part time work either to switch jobs or ideally to stay in my current job and have another 1/2 day a week job to top up my income but no luck so far. I hate being on Social Welfare so it is not a case of being happy with the Status Quo. I am not sure what Job Path can tell me that I haven't already done. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Jenn

First session is a group thing approx 3 hours unless you need to reschedule for good reason then my first meeting was a 1 hour one on one followed by a 5 minute meeting every 3 weeks. Going ok so far

The rest of your meetings will basically be you searching the internet for jobs and them constantly getting you to fill out what u have applied for that week

i have a part time job with the prospect of 30 hrs coming up. i really like where i work and the exrta hours will be great, but will this mean i still have to do jobpath and take a different job?

Explain to them that you like your job and have a real prospect of more hours very soon and that you will keep putting pressure on your boss. If they are any way decent (mine are) - that should be enough for the time being.
