LG 55UJ635V and Horizon

I just got a new TV (LG 55UJ635V). I can change the channels via the Horizon remote but not adjust the sound. Do I need to pair the remote with the tv or similar? With my previous tv,(an older Samsung) pretty much all tv functionality was controlled from the Horizon remote. Cheers, sombaht
