I've been getting adverts on my lock screen which seem to coincide with a recent update.

I've downloaded nothing dodgy but don't seem to be able to get rid of them. It's a standard s7 edge not jsilbroken

    Any ideas ?

An official Samsung update won't put ads on your lock screen.
I just googled it and here are some apps that can show ads on your lock screen.

    • Amber Weather Widget
    • ES App Locker
    • GO apps (of note: GO Weather, GO SMS, GO Keyboard, Next Browser)
    • Kingo Root
    • KittyPlay Wallpapers, Ringtones
    • TouchPal apps (TouchPal makes multiple keyboard apps)
    • Xender (file transfer app)
    • Zero Team apps (of note: Z Camera)

Read the comments too - some recent apps have been named there.

Peel remote is the cause I think, at least for me.

HTC ship with a Third party keyboard, which now shows ads. Not applicable to the S7 but just shows how moronic some of the OEM devs are.

What are the Ads for exactly? That might be able to point you in the right direction.

Ehmmm I'm quiet aware of the issue and it got resolved within the day almost. Have you even read the article you linked?

So your almost of a week out of date and incorrect in your post.

Are you a tabloid journalist in your day job by any chance?

This is the culprit I've the same thing on my samsung it seems to be when you put it on charge it says goodnight or something then when you take it off charge it says good morning followed by an add.

Also the free alarm apps throw up ads when you acknowledge the alarm.

Yes exactly. There is no way to uninstall it either I think, but at least I have found their night time sounds to actually be pretty useful, I enjoy the sound of rain when trying to get to sleep

Peel remote is standard so I think you can only uninstall the updates but thats all.

Right, maybe that will be enough to stop the adds though?

Thanks it seems to be Peel but it's damned annoying! Disabled updates so hope that cures it.
