Bakoke is some unit. Showed very good punch variety

I thought Anderson would have similar mobility as Michael Hunter who made it so difficult for Bakole sticking him on the backfoot but I got it all wrong. Bakole way too strong and pretty much ran over Anderson. Fight probably should've been stopped earlier too.

Hopefully some big fights to follow for Bakole. He'd be a problem for a lot of the big name heavyweights.

that was a really easy fight for Bakole. Anderson had no answers at all. Watched Eddie do an interview and he reckons get Bakole in with Zhang. Good fight but I reckon Zhang has the power for him. Him and Parker would be a good one too.
ruiz must be all but done now.

Never rated Anderson tbh. Never saw him as future of the division or anything close to it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,873 ✭✭✭squinn2912

nah not really. He’d fought nothing and this was a huge step up. He needs to rebuild. He did show some good heart in that fight. I’d fear for him that every time he steps up to top or close to top level he will get knocked out

Anderson recently said he finds boxing a chore and hates the training and because of that he wants to retire at 26/27 so doesn’t sound like his heart is in it.

did he really it’s not long ago he was gonna be world champion and take over from fury.

Bakole Hunter rematch would be good. Funny, Hunter has faded away since the Povetkin draw. Bakole is massive now compared to then I think that fight would retire Hunter

    December 21 still a runner?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,873 ✭✭✭squinn2912

    why wouldn’t it be?

i see makhmadov is up again this week. Apparently he broke his hand in the agit K fight. Plenty of ability there yet

I see Makhmudov got absolutely battered and stopped last night by the lowly rated Vianello. Looks like he might never really have been that good.

    saw that. Big lump.

Other news I only heard today was Luiz Alberto Lopez, who banjoed Conlan last year was knocked out by Leo Angelo August 10, losing his IBF FW title, and suffered a bleed on his brain

    a big, stiff idiot.
looks scary but when it’s put up to him he’s slow, unaware and all too willing to take hits. Awful to watch.

    Wlad on the money!!!

    Hands down Joshua.

He is getting to be the complete fighter. Technically, size-wise, weight-wise, power-wise. And he is a good learner.

The other guy [Fury], like a fart in the wind it is there and it is gone. In the history of boxing there are a lot of examples of this kind of guy. They can be successful for a time but are not disciplined enough to continue to be successful. I wish Tyson well but I think there is a lack of discipline there, and discipline is more important than motivation.

Drawing from my experience I would say it is going to be very difficult for Tyson because there’s that lack of discipline.”

I can’t see Aj and fury ever fighting each other, but their next fights could change all that I guess.

Fury doesn’t seem to have the fitness to keep it going for 12 rounds of hard work in the trenches, beating Usyk is an uphil task and will mentally and physically drain him.

Aj hasn’t been tested properly since Usyk and hasn’t been hit properly for ages, I don’t expect dubois to trouble him but if he lands it’s going to be interesting.

Zhang v Bakoke being looked at. Be a great match up. Two monsters

Wlad can’t let it go I think what bothered him much more was Fury going off the rails for the rematch rather than beating him first time. That robbed him of time that he didn’t have and he must have felt he’d have won his belts back.
Joshua hasn’t done nearly enough to justify a plug like that. He’s beaten a few turkeys since Usyk so it’s hard to see where his aptitude for learning is in evidence

Fury might not have the greatest tank for 12 rounds with Usyk but he’s more than capable of knocking him out or tying him up. He needs different tactics but I make Usyk the mildest of favourites

I don’t think Joshua will have it easy at all with Dubois but we’ll see. If both win they’re bound to fight. Aggressive Joshua has a great chance, if Fury can make him go backwards it’s all his

I’d agree with that, Wlad not getting the rematch must kill him.
Champion for so long and not getting the opportunity to win them back.

The first fight was close. Fury fought a great tactical fight but I believe Wlad lost that fight for himself. He was too tentative. It was a very strange performance.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,873 ✭✭✭squinn2912

He was confused by Fury’s antics which also disgusted him. For what it’s worth I think that version of Fury still would have won the rematch in a stinker. Fury would have gained lots more confidence and belief.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 495 ✭✭reclose

I’m not convinced he would have won the rematch, it was 50/50. Wlad wouldn’t have been that bad again but age would be a factor for sure.
I reckon Wlad thought he’d get a home town decision in the stink fest, the rematch he would have had to go for broke in the last few rounds and he’d have to land something with that approach.
I definitely think a Wlad 3/4 years younger beats Fury.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 56,594 ✭✭✭✭walshb

Yes, and throw in the boars meat and Wlad’s bang in trouble

It’s early days, but what’s the early AJ-DD predictions?

    I think AJ wins early

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 495 ✭✭reclose

It depends what AJ has left. The first few hard punches landed will tell alot.
Will AJ like being hit? Will Dubois be taking clean shots again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,989 ✭✭✭selectamatic

If Dubois isn't taking clean shots it'll be down to AJ being too scared to commit offensively imo. I can't see Dubois improving drastically in the defensive stakes. He took an absolute world of punches in the Hergovic fight.

However if Dubois can employ the offence is the best form of defence mantra it could be an interesting fight especially if he's willing and able to take a few to land his own. I would however question his ability to take big shots from Joshua.

If right was right AJ should be making handy enough work of him but you just never know which AJ will turn up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,892 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

If he hits AJ with one good shot early he'll have a great chance because AJ really backs off when he gets hit hard.

Hrgovic was landing easy but there was nothing really heavy coming from him so it didn’t bother dubois, I reckon if hrgovic landed heavy Dubois would have fucked up and defended better
