What paint is suitable for Skamolex boards?

Hi I've installed a wood burner stove in a fireplace recess which has been lined with Skamolex boards. I would like to paint these boards but don't know what type of paint to use that is safe and will achieve a dark grey matt finish. Any advice would be gratefully received. Many thanks
