HKC Quantum 70 into Virgin Media phoneline?

I have a HKC Quantum 70 alarm box that currently plugs into my landline.

I'm going to be cancelling the account for the landline (which is part of my ADSL broadband package) and getting Virgin Media installed and my landline phone will be VOIP.

Can the HKC Quantum 70 still ring me if I plug it into the Virgin Media box instead, or is the only way around it to get a SIM card and pay a fee for that?

Yes, should work perfectly fine. I haven't had a problem with VM on the Quantums yet.

Unless you have a power cut that is.

VMs line out of the modem is converted to analogue so it should work fine.

Just following up on this... I might opt for Fibre Broadband instead which will have VOIP.

Can my HKC Quantum 70 use this as well, or do I need to keep the regular phone line subscription going (unlike with Virgin Media)?

I don't want to go the SIM-card route.

cheers. What's the difference between an expensive one and a cheap one?

All I need is for my alarm to ring me whenever it goes off and I'm not there.

Probably very little. What VoIP service are you planning to use.?

The provider you mean? Does it make a difference, or do you mean the type of router provided by them?

Some of them supply a router with an analogue phone output.
