Swimming nappies

    Hi all,

I was going to bring my little fella swimming over the weekend. He's still in nappies and uses size 6 pull ups. I know there are "waterproof" nappies or nappies suitable for swimming, Where would I pick these up? Are they any good and are there alternatives? Would I get ones big enough for him?

    Thanks :)

You'd get them in a supermarket. Huggies swim pants. Aldi have them too but they aren't always in stock

the pool i used to bring my kid to had them for sale. They still stock them in a range of sizes. It would be cheaper to buy them yourself, i ve seen them in tesco. Think they are called "little swimmers".

Little swimmers, I think Tesco had them on special offer this week.
A lot of pools will have them for sale individually too, but I'm sure they're very expensive to buy that way!

You can get Huggies little swimmers in most supermarkets. Aldi have them as well - but not always in stock as someone mentioned.

Something I didn't know about swim nappies (and learned the warm wet way) is that they're designed primarily to hold in solids, not liquids. The idea - which is obvious when you think about it - is that they don't get weighed down with water.

So don't put the swim nappy on at home and head for the pool. Again - that might be the most obvious thing in the world to some people. It wasn't to me. I thought I was being super efficient until I felt a warm trickle running down my arm.

On top of the swim nappies most pools also require you have special swim wear, one brand being 'happy nappy'. It's a swim suit that is tight along the waist and legs to act as a fail safe incase the swim nappy leaks. If any poo gets into the water, the pool has to be shut to get cleaned.

    Thanks everyone :)

I'll try a few supermarkets tomorrow. He knows about using the big boys toilet so I'll make sure to keep an eye and ask him throughout if he needs to go. Any issues and I'll take him straight out :)

Yep just to echo what the others have said they are really only made to keep the poo in + are not waterproof so don't put them on till literally get to pool. I had one on our like guy going to beach + learnt pretty quick that they leak!

Went to the aquatic centre today, had a ball! Put the little swimmers nappy on just before we got in the pool. My fella wears size 6 pull ups and the biggest I could get were 5-6. They did fit but there wasn't much room in them, for anything if you get me... anyway, it wasn't needed so all went well. He's potty training at the moment so they shouldn't be needed for much longer.
