I Can't Tonight Im Going Online

    Hi all,

I've created a new channel called I Can't Tonight I'm Going online that will be based around any and all retro gaming related themes that you might or might not know about. The retro Gaming scene is massive and I love to research more information about things that might not be well known or even more information about stuff that is know.

In that vein, I've picked a couple of topics to cover as I find my feet (I will link what I've uploaded so far in the comments below). The plan is to try and get a new video out at least every two weeks (my usual health issues determining if this will be possible or not, so bare with me if this isn't the case) but I'm very happy the way things are lining up behind the scenes. I've some pretty cool segments planned and through the power of the internet have reconnected with and touched base with former coworkers, friends I've made during my years in the collecting community and even people I've only met recently who were amazing receptive to my ideas.

I won't reveal the big selling point of this until all my ducks are in a row but if it works out it'll be pretty damn cool in my opinion.... hopefully..

If you made it this far... I thank you for reading... Long ramble over.

Here are the links to the videos I've uploaded so far. Some of them I might have posted on here before but rather than clog up the page in the future I'll just post them all here from now on. I've started using a new editing software and recently traded for an actual mic and pop shield so I'm hoping that I'll learn as I go and try make more professional videos as I progress.

Super Mario Bros. The Great Mission To Save Princess Peach:

    MaxiVision 15-in-1:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4QOqkx67qU

Video Game TV Shows - Part 01:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ax1ekKV-rYc&t

World Of WarCraft - The Corrupted Blood Incident:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nz5Nf4mJMSw

That Time Gandhi Nuked US All:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PvDR_8_vMc&t

Finally if anyone has any suggestions of future topics for me to cover feel free to make them and I'll add them to my list going forward if there's enough of a story to make a video.

    Thanks guys,

    Al.

I'd watched a couple of these already and there's a lot of potential. I like the concept of telling a story about gaming rather than go down any of the other saturated YouTube gaming formats. The channel names cool too very vaporwave.

New mics a good call. Think even tenuously linked game footage is generally more visually stimulating than still images too many of those can look a bit fan made music video. I've always liked Kim Justices approach of throwing in some miscellaneous courtroom drama footage instead of a stock image of a gavel say.

The Ghandi videos definitely the best one so far. Maxivision one might have been better if you'd flipped back and forth between the doc content and the explosive wrestling promos, brother. Just more structured make it digestible.

    Hey Shapey Fiend,

    Really appreciate the feedback.

The Gandhi episode is the latest one i've released with the MaxiVision one being the second oldest and the last before I started using the new editing software. All episodes in that series going forward will have a similar layout to the Gandhi episode.

I'm currently in hospital but trying my best to be productive while in here and have written out a few topics for future episodes that I'll edit and upload when I get out. I'm genuinely unsure if I should go the straight laced root or include humor in there aswell. I held back a lot in a topic for a future episode but I reckon it's content might not be the most youtube friendly topic anyway so I'll have to edit it carefully.

My mic has arrived in my absence but the POP filter is still on the way. Believe it or not the audio for the last two videos has been recorded in my hospital bed at about 2 or 3 in the morning when I haven't been able to sleep. It's faint but if you listen very carefully you can actually hear the person that is sharing the room with me at the time, snoring for a second (purely because if I cut the audio any more it would have cut out some of my voice also). It might be noticeable or maybe it isn't but I'm also aware that in some places I slur my words from time to time. Unfortunately this is a side effect of both my meds and ongoing condition but I'm going to keep going regardless and hopefully I'll figure out a way around it in the future. It might just come down to rerecording the audio over and over until it's perfect.

Thanks again for the feedback and most importantly, for actually watching these videos. I know it's something I'm enjoying putting together myself but it means a lot that others are watching also and especially giving feedback. I promise if my other idea goes ahead it'll be pretty cool and I have some really amazing things to reveal to ye all!

    Al.

Recording from a hospital bed with someone snoring in the background is something else. I hope you're doing alright. Sure Kim Justice has a bit of a speech impediment and it never held her back it's down to the quality of the writing at the end of the day. A bit of humour is certainly something to play around with. If you overstep a line can just take the feedback on board and think about it a bit. If you're already mindful of how things are taken I doubt you'll make any gaffes. I suppose you just have to consider who the victim of the joke, if any, and then ask is it ok for me to make this joke.

Glad you're enjoying it. Already bringing something different to the table in terms of content that hasn't been covered already, and increasing the production values as you get more practiced, so it's something I'm certainly going to enjoy watching.

A lot of you might not know this but I was fairly handy at basketball when I was younger and not in the shootin some b-ball outside of the school dreamer kinda way. I am roughly the same height since I'm 12 years of age (give or take half a foot) and that helped me a lot. When I wasn't playing basketball or swimming locally (for my school/club) or basketball nationally (underage) my next love was video games! One of my favorite arcade games growing up and one I was actually good at was the one, the only, NBA JAM! I'm showing my age but I must have given The Buzz (an arcade that was around then and one I truly miss) by Cruises Hotel in Limerick hundreds if not thousands of pounds playing that and other games back in the day. I didn't choose the Bulls as my team because Mr. Charles Barkley was my idol at the time but I wonder would I have if I'd known this even if just to try it out!
