Car for low distance trips.

Hi,

Looking for a car that i would use to make maybe a 50 KM per month. I need it to drop 2 kids to school 3 times a week (2 km each way). I potentially would use it occasionally to drive to shops etc.
It has to be cheap to run and maintain and easy to sell also if required (in case of upgrade requirements). If i wasn't living in rural area i would use cab.
I want to spend no more than 6-7 K on it.
Any hints what to look for ?

Japanese/Korean brands, small petrol engine would make sense.

If space is not an issue, smaller the car cheaper to run likes of Toyota Yaris, Nissan Micra/Note, Hyundai i10/Kia Picanto,

A ford fiesta could be an alternative as they are reliable in general.

Look at the Honda Jazz too, reliable petrol engine and lots of space on the inside.

A good example of a bangernomics Yaris or Honda Jazz, as suggested above.

Given your requirements, parting with 6-7k seems like overkill.
