Has a nice gritty "Wolf Creek" feel to it but that could just be a lack of a budget.

Hopefully it's better than the last instalment "Texas Chainsaw 3D" which was absolute pants despite introducing me to my future wife Alexandra Daddario.

I like this quote about the movie:
"Practical effects were primarily used to bring the killings, corpses, and gore to life; much of the budget was spent on building a realistic cow carcass".

Any of the TCM reimaginings I've seen have been garbage.

    This will be garbage too.

The original was essentially just a hellish soundscape that evoked a deep sense of brooding menace throughout. It was so horrific that when the BBFC (or equivalent at the time) looked to make cuts, they realised there was nothing they could edit out to reduce the films horrific atmosphere. Hence it being banned for years.

This is something that will never be replicated. So why even bother with these remakes? Purely made for money.

    I've seen it

It is very good and different than the others , This would have even better if it wasn't saddled with the TCM franchise

Was actually a pretty good film. Bit pointless making it, seeing as it never even got a proper release.
Surely Jackson is too small to be Leatherface and doesn't really fit in with the rest of the canon? The transformation doesn't make sense either, Leatherface is mentally disabled while Jackson is completely normal

As for Texas Chainsaw 3D, who are all the other people in the Sawyer house when the villagers open fire at the start of the film? It was just Grandad, Drayton, Jedidiah and Nubbins in the house in the original film, and all of a sudden we we have about 4 other guys with beards and a woman and a baby

If I remember correctly Gunnar Hansen made a cameo as one of those people at the start.
