Help With Opening Ceiling Door

Hi all,

I need some advice on how to open a (trap?) door in the ceiling of a shop I work in. I have attached pictures below including a close up of the lock itself. It seems to be a square "key" hole, I've tried attacking it with a few different sized allen keys but they did not do anything (none of them fit perfectly well into the hole though).

Is anyone familiar with this kind of door / lock? We arent even sure whats behind it but hope that it gives access to another section of the unit wall.

Looks like it could just be a normal door handle where the spindle has come out with the handle.

I think thats a great call, definitely explains the shape of the hole. Will give it a shot.

get a big flat headed srew driver. it will go in diagonallly and turn it.

you probably have a key somewhere in the shop

It's a plasterboard hatch, takes a key that looks like a T with a square head, 8mm or so. You can open it using two flathead drivers inserted togeather and turning them anticlockwise half a turn or so.
