I'm going to be in Dublin tomorrow and I will need to use both Dublin Bus and the Luas. Is there a ticket I can buy for this purpose?

And if so how do I use the ticket on both bus and Luas?

    Thank you.

Leap Card is used on both Dublin Bus and Luas. It has a daily cap of €10 for use on both:

    https://about.leapcard.ie/fare-capping

No other daily ticket exists for both combined.

Just use the Leap card in the normal way, it won't charge you more then the €10

    - Bus - put card on ticket machine next to bus driver and tell him/her where you are going or you can just use the right hand validator if you are certain you will go over €10 for the day
    - Luas - Tag-on before getting on Luas, tag-off after getting off

Or get a LEAP 24 hour Visitor Card.

They're available for €10 from any of the following locations:

    Dublin Airport

Bus & Travel Information Desk (T1 Arrivals)
    Spar (T2 Arrivals)

    Dublin City Centre

Dublin Bus, 59 Upper O’Connell St.
Discover Ireland Centre, 14 Upper O’Connell St.
Visit Dublin Centre, 25 Suffolk St.

    Thanks for the info!

Just to make sure I've understood correctly, if I get this ten euro card does it mean I can use it an unlimited amount of times on bus and the luas for that day?

    Thanks again.

    Does this include heavy rail?

Is it available to Irish people or just visitors? i.e. does a prospective purchaser have to show evidence of external residence?

It includes Irish Rail services within the Short Hop zone (Balbriggan - Howth - M3 Parkway - Kilcock - Sallins & Naas - Kilcoole

Anyone can buy it - it's the same price as the daily cap on a normal LEAP card.

    Full details are here:
    https://about.leapcard.ie/leap-visitor-card

You can order it online as well.

72 hour and 7-day versions are available also.

All three modes for E10, that sounds better than the ordinary leap card daily cap.

Ordinary leap card daily cap is €10 for all three?

EUR10 is the normal daily cap.

The visitor card is just handier for people on one off visits.

And the user does not have to purchase a LEAP card or pay E5 deposit either.

    Great for one off users.

Giving that the standard capping on a Leap card excludes Airlink the visitor card is even cheaper if you intend to use the Airlink.
