New Car Replacement benefit on policy

    Hi,

    Some insurance companies have this benefit added to their car policy stating that, in cases where the insured car is classified as a Write Off after an accident, and is less than 1 year old, they will offer to replace the vehicle with a new vehicle of the same make, model and specification, if one is available.

    Does that mean that they will replace the vehicle with a brand new car or they will give you a second-hand car of the same make and model and with similar mileage?

    It's new car replacement.

    A pre owned or second hand vehicle is not a new car.
