Have you be unemployed or on disability?

Either way I don't believe there is a scheme. There was a social welfare scheme number of years ago but that was removed in 09.

Would you consider starting your own business. There's a scheme where you can keep a portion of your social welfare for 3 years if you were unemployed for the long term prior to starting your business.

Other than that you have the benefit of starting your job mid way through the year so you can benefit from a full years tax credits and cut off point but only a half years income.

If you were on disability and you still are, you need to request permission from them stating that you are fit for work (a doctors letter). They will ask for your payslips to check how much are you going to earning and if you don't reach a certain level they will allow you to keep a portion of your payments subject to reviews on a regular basis. You will also need to inform them of any changes on your wages for them to review if you can keep a portion from the payments or not
