Canon Powershot SX430 IS in Lidl

Lidl have Canon Powershot SX430 IS for sale at the moment for €249.99. I was doing some research into it and came across the same price for same camera in Sam McCauley, both are offering a free Canon Case but I went to Sam McCauley Douglas Court Cork to have a hands-on look and was offered a 16gb SD card as part of the deal so bought it there!

both places have this camera as being previously €399.99

took it on holidays with me and must say the photos are great quality

It's a very good brand and fair price, but the only thing SX430 lacks is full HD recording, it does 720p which is sufficient for utube anyway.

For just slightly more I'd aim for the x60/63/65 optical zoom (up to 1,550 mm focal length).
Same 16-20mpx, but usually FHD (1080p) video, from any of these bridge cameras:

Canon PowerShot SX60
Sony DSCH400
Panasonic DMC-FZ72

I have a Canon Powershot SX40. Haven't used it much lately but want to get back to taking more photos. I notice this one has wifi, which should allow for easy downloads and sharing. What else does it offer over the SX40?

hard to say as this is my 1st canon? the wifi is brilliant tho. connects seamlessly to iPhone and allows me to transfer photos easily, one at a time or I can select a range of photos by date etc

Must be a price war on with Lidl & the Argooose with this range, the same(ish) model is now €159.00 at the popular catalogue store.
The SX420 would seem to have the same sort of specs as the SX430, not sure about having IS lens though. 413/3571.

currys had the sx710 for 220e about 4mnths ago so it's worth checking in with them also once in a while.

€159.99 in Argos, save 50% for the 'same but previous' model, any padded bag will do, for any price.
Wasn't sure previously, but does also appear to have the IS lens.
Sx420 Pretty much the same camera as sx430.

I was just comparing like with like. It's the newer model in Lidl. And that exact bag too which is €36.99 in Argos.

Wifi a seriously underrated feature in cameras. I find myself quicker to get the camera out to take photos because it's so easy to send them to my phone, rather than faff about with swapping memory cards into the computer.

The New Lidl is opening in Wilton Cork tomorrow we got a brochure advertising a Canon Powershot SZ530 HS and Case for 149.99 any thoughts on if this is a good price ?

199.99 in other lidl stores...sx430 with case.
