Now call me unfortunate but in the past three months I've encountered six armed garda checkpoints from Apple wood in Swords, robs wall in Malahide, portmarnock and other locations.

Anyone know why this is the case?

Hardly coincidence, but I know of several armed checkpoints outside Knocksedan in recent months, all in the evening. Mrs Rushfan was dropping the teen queen & her friends home from a debs type ball one night and encountered same. Made for interesting conversations .

6 would be low enough, I think I've seen 15+at this point they have a schedule, usually up at Brackenstown church, ridge wood, applewood, rathbeale rd at JCs and then outside Ardcian. From what I've seen they only run them for 30 mins then move to the next location. Since the gang feud they've increased the armed stops in a lot of places, I know I usually hit one around 5 lamps/ Sherriff st too. Weirdest one I've hit was at the shops at the estuary, Malahide end.

Strong rumours that several members of a North inner city gang (part of current feud) have moved into the greater Malahide area for safety, as their own area was no longer safe to live in.
Could be the reason for all the extra Garda activity....

There's been a lot of checkpoints armed and otherwise in Swords for at least 6 months.
For several reasons, most of which are connected.

I gather that individuals well known to the gardaí have taken up residence in various areas including in the areas surrounding rathbeale Road, Applewood etc.

You may also recall incidents such as the below in the area

I heard this too. Went through an armed check point last Thursday in Rivervalley.
