    Hi all
I'm looking to see if I can make up an independent operating system to run a Mchale wrapper using a hydraulic pto pump and fitted resivior on wrapper. Has anyone seen links or ideas that could help me. Want to run it on a small tractor. Cheers and thanks again

Pretty sure you could use the setup off a hedgecutter...

That's the sort of idea I'd like to hear. Want to run the wrapper with a 35

    Just a few thoughts,

How slow is it when running off the 35? I know a guy running a Kevernland trailed wrapper on a Ford 3000 and it works ok, a little slow but acceptable. The slight difference in speed wouldn't warrant him spending any money to change the set up.

If you are going for a pto powered pump you could use the tractors own gearbox as the oil reservoir instead of having a separate tank. You just need a flow and return plus you can overfill a 35 back end a bit and it'll be fine.

Might be a good idea to have a look at the diesel engined hydraulic power packs that McHale supply with / on their wrappers. It might give you some ideas. D.A. Lupton is the company they use IIRC. The hydraulic pump they use isn't as big as you'd think.

Unless you have it, or can pick up all the stuff secondhand, buying a pump and pipework, fittings, etc... could be very expensive. If buying secondhand hydraulic pump be very careful that it is suitable, flow rate is the important thing for a wrapper more so than pressure

The 35 has only a flow rate of 13l/m need a minimum of 30l/m as reckomended by Mchale. Oh ok how would I get point for flow on the 35 the would be close to the bottom of the 35 back end to keep the job as simple as possible
